Meet time: 9.15am
Start time: 9.30am
Start point: Dufton car park, NY 690250
This is a moderate 11 mile circular walk up to Great Rundale Tarn then onto High Cup Nick.
Starting from Dufton we will head for the foot of Dufton Pike, following the track to the east side of the Pike we climb up to Threlkeld Side Mine which was operational from 1821 to 1980. Heading past the mine the track climbs steadily to the shooting hut over looking Great Rundale Tarn. From the Tarn we will follow the beck towards High Cup Nick, this section of the walk is across moorland so can be boggy and will most likely involve grouse scarpering from the moorland. Once we get to the bridge crossing the beck we will then make our way to High Cup Nick and join the Pennine way back to Dufton.
Distance: 11 miles
