For the bank holiday weekend, Mel will be leading two walks on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th up in the Scottish Borders in the Ettrick Valley near Selkirk.
Here’s her description of the weekend plans:
So the August bank holiday weekend (26th and 27th of August), I’m heading up to the Scottish Borders to explore some of the walking around there. I have put both the walks I’m planning to walk 1 & walk 2. I’m going to be camping up there at the Honey Cottage campsite from the Friday night so anyone who is wanting a trip away feel free to join me. They’re pretty easygoing about campers so people can come along and stay any of the nights or not as they wish. If you’re wanting to camp please book directly with the campsite themselves (or at least let them know you’re coming – they don’t take payment at time of booking) and just pop me a message to say you’ll be there and I’ll choose a camping area with enough room. There’s a pub a mile walk from the site for food (stop serving at 8pm) or another one 8 miles up the road which serves until later in the evening.
If you are coming along on either of the walks could you please text me by the Friday night at 6pm since once I leave work and head to Ettrick Valley I’ll be unlikely to have any signal.
