Distance – Around 7 miles

From the start point we walk up out of the village, past the Sun Inn, and towards the coppermines. We then head up past the YHA towards Levers Water, and continue to we get to the saddle between Swirl How and Whetherlam. We climb up the side of Swirl How, where there may be a little bit of scrambling needed, up to the cairn. We then follow the path along to Brim Fell and then to Coniston Old Man. It is a relatively short decent from the summit back down towards the coppermines valley and back into Coniston village.
